“Everything That Comes With Sports Dreams Meets Reality” will benefit The Robert Moses Foundation
Coach Robert Moses aka Coach Mo left me with these words: “I have so much love for the boys, that are now great men. We shared tears, memories, laughs but most of all, we shared love.” In 1983 Robert Moses who was born and raised in the city of Cleveland, Ohio started a youth organization for youth grades 4th to 12th that catered to sports, primarily basketball. The Parkside Panthers basketball program was established and had twenty coaches. The Parkside Panthers basketball program, gave motivation to the youth to stay in school, obtain good grades, higher self esteem and to be a better person overall. The youth would traveled the United States and played in various youth basketball tournaments in states like Florida, Texas, Utah, Tennessee, West Virgina, Atlanta, and more. The youth would learn life experiences from these trips provided by the Parkside Panthers youth basketball program. Robert Moses shares that the portrayal of a black male in society disgusted him. You will hear various stories from former coaches and players on how the Parkside Panthers youth basketball program established by Robert Moses impacted their lives. How the Robert Moses youth program helped them to strive for more; academically and personally even as most came from troubled; drug infested homes, and single parent homes. Parkside Homes was a part of the Parkside Housing Project community in Dayton, Ohio.
